Creative commons

I want to start putting images in my blog but I've been worried about copyright and what I am allowed to use. I researched creative commons on the LMS site and found a collection of images on Flickr that were able to be used as long as credit was given to the creator. There were a number of different symbols, some of which allowed for the use of images provided no derivative works were produced or provided the work was used for non commercial purposes only. This will be useful if i create a blog or public document in the future and I will know where to find images which can be safely used without repercussion. As a teacher it is important to set a good example for students. I asked my tutor about using images found on the internet and he said it was fine as long as I acknowledge the original owner of the image.

My website is looking better now, I've added my bio and description to the page. And have created a new "social media" page for the second part of the assignment in which we create a social space and instruction for our peers to contribute to it in some way. I have been thinking about choosing facebook or google plus for this purpose but I will do further research and evaluate potential sites before choosing which one to use.
